The Bees look to have finally secured a replacement for Yoane Wissa

Brentford agree club-record deal to sign Ouattara

Brentford have agreed a club-record deal worth up to £42.5m for Bournemouth forward Dango Ouattara, with the 23-year-old set to travel to London on Friday for a medical.

Sources close to the Burkina Faso international suggested he wanted to leave after not playing a prominent role at Vitality Stadium.

Ouattara scored nine goals in 37 appearances in all competitions for the Cherries last season.

Nottingham Forest had previously been interested but have instead agreed a £37.5m deal with Ipswich for England Under-21 winger Omari Hutchinson, while Brentford themselves had a £35m bid for Hutchinson rejected last month.

It is unclear whether Ouattara’s arrival could open the door for Yoane Wissa to depart, with Bees boss Keith Andrews confirming on Thursday that the striker would not feature in Sunday’s Premier League opener at Nottingham Forest amid uncertainty over his future.

Newcastle United have seen a £25m plus £5m in add-ons bid for the 28-year-old rejected.
