Arsenal centre-back Gabriel came off in the 75th minute against Olympiacos but is fit to start.

Defender Piero Hincapie is out with a groin issue but could return after the international break, while forwards Noni Madueke, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus all have knee injuries.

Full-backs Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori return and forward Bukayo Saka makes his 200th Premier League appearance..

Midfielder Declan Rice and forward Eberechi Eze also come in, with Martin Zubimendi, Gabriel Martinelli, Mikel Merino, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ben White dropping to the bench.

“You never know what that’s going to look like and what that’s going to bring, so let’s be ready,” captain Martin Odegaard said of facing opponents under fresh leadership.

“We know West Ham are a good team and have got results here in recent years. That’s something we have in mind and we want to put things right today.”

Bowen’s winner gave West Ham a 1-0 win at Arsenal on February 22 in arguably the best result of former boss Graham Potter’s brief reign.

“We have to make sure we are on it, to keep the momentum going and keep taking points,” urged Odegaard.

“That’s key now. It’s going to be another good battle and hopefully we can get another win.”

West Ham lineup vs Arsenal

Tomas Soucek is suspended for West Ham. Fellow midfielder George Earthy is expected to miss at least a month with a hamstring injury.

Right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka returns following a stomach injury in place of Kyle Walker-Peters at right-back, while Bowen plays for the 200th time in the division.

“We are really enjoying working with the new head coach because he’s a good guy and already has experience of the Premier League,” winger El Hadji Malick Diouf told West Ham’s website.

“He can help us and help me as a young player, and that’s what we neeed. We started with a positive result and we can have a good season with him.

“You can see from the whole team that there is a lot of new energy. We have something here and we have a lot of good players.

“The quality is there and everything can change. We just need time. We have to be calm and take our time.

“We must play as a team, defend together and attack together. If we do that, we will finish high in the table.

“We have to be confident and ready to defend properly. Arsenal are good from set pieces. We are not scared and I’m confident we can win.

“I believe in my team. I believe in what I see here, my team-mates and myself.

“Arsenal are a really good team and maybe one of the top teams in the world just now. They have a really good squad, but so do we.”
