Arsenal v Wolves: Confirmed line-ups as Saliba, Rice and Timber all return for Gunners

Arsenal will aim to heap more misery on hapless Wolves when the sides meet at the Emirates this evening.

The Black Country side prop up the table having taken just two points from their first 15 games. Rob Edwards’ return to the club has failed to have the desired effect and relegation appears a formality unless they can turn their form around quickly.

That looks highly unlikely to happen against an Arsenal side that continue to look strong both domestically and in Europe.

Although they were beaten 2-1 at Aston Villa last weekend, the Gunners still hold a two-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table. They can extend that to five points tonight with City not in action until tomorrow when they visit Crystal Palace.

Mikel Arteta’s side also lead the Champions League table. Their 3-0 win at Club Brugge in midweek maintained their status as the only side in the competition with a 100% record after six matches.

The Gunners have also prevailed in their last seven at Emirates Stadium against teams starting the day in the bottom three, since drawing 3-3 with Southampton in April 2023.
  • While they have the best defence in the Premier League this season with nine goals conceded, Arsenal have shipped six goals in their last five league games, double the amount they did in their first 10 matches.
