Arsenal captain Odegaard ‘out for weeks’ with knee injury
The playmaker has a knee injury
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is set to remain on the sidelines for a ‘few more weeks’ as he recovers from his latest injury setback.
The Norway midfielder missed two weeks last month due to a shoulder issue, and is now the club’s fourth player currently out of action with a knee injury after Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Noni Madueke.
The Gunners head into the Premier League return top of the table and face Fulham on Saturday.
“He will be weeks, there is no definite date for his return,” manager Mikel Arteta said.
“He is evolving well. It’s very unlucky what is happening with him.
“I think he will be back in a few weeks but we’ll have to see how he is progressing, how his knee is feeling. It’s too early to get an answer.”
Arteta did have some positive news as he confirmed that forward Havertz could make a return earlier than expected.

The Germany international had a knee operation in August and was expected to miss months of action.
Arteta said: “There’s still a lot to do in his rehab. He’s really pushing it, we know Kai and that’s why we love him so much. But we have to wait and see.
“I think we are doing a really good work with him again. He wants to break every timeline, I’m sure. But as well, we have to protect him and make sure that when he comes back, he’s come back for the long term.”
