Future Chelsea star suspended by Strasbourg after breach of discipline
Emegha will miss this weekend's game with Toulouse
Future Chelsea striker Emmanuel Emegha has been suspended by his current club Strasbourg for “failing to respect the values and expectations of the club’s rules.”
Emegha will join Chelsea at the end of the season but will remain at the Ligue 1 outfit for the 2025/26 campaign. Both clubs are owned by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital’s company BlueCo.
It has not been disclosed what breach has been committed by the 22-year-old but a Strasbourg statement read: “RC Strasbourg Alsace have decided to suspend Emmanuel Emegha for the next Ligue 1 match, this Saturday at Toulouse. This decision was taken after the player recently failed to respect the values and expectations set in the club’s rules.
“Le Racing reaffirms its commitment to its key principles of respect for the collective. Emmanuel remains an important member of the team, who has always given everything on the pitch. He will be reintegrated into the squad after this match. No further comment will be made.”

Emegha has made seven Ligue 1 appearances this season, scoring four goals and adding two assists for Liam Rosenior’s side, who are eighth in the table. He scored 14 goals and provided three assists in 27 games last term.
Just last week, the Netherlands international was praised for his attitude by Strasbourg president Marc Keller.
Keller told BBC Sport: “For us, it was important to keep Emegha because he’s an important player.
“Emegha is improving. He came two years ago, he’s now captain of the team. He was injured, he came back, he scored a few goals, so he’s improving.
“He’s also a man with a lot of character – a good guy.”
