Stunning strike has strugglers ahead

Real Madrid trail to shock Getafe goal

Real Madrid were shocked at half-time of their La Liga clash with struggling Getafe as the visitors took the lead.

Alvaro Arbeloa’s side had 78% of the possession in the first 45 minutes and mustered four shots on target as they dominated.

But with star striker Kylian Mbappe absent with a knee injury they lacked a killer touch and did not really trouble Getafe skipper David Soria in goal.

And they were made to pay when Martin Satriano scored a stunning volley from the edge of the penalty area, smashing the ball past Thibaut Courtois.

Defeat would leave Real four points behind Barcelona at the summit.

Real Madrid have won their last 16 home games against Getafe in LaLiga. Only against Racing de Santander (18 between 1952 and 1994) have they achieved a longer winning streak at home in the competition (also 16 against Barcelona between 1949 and 1964.
