Vinicius Jr is hoping to rekindle his relationship with Virgina Fonseca
Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr has issued a humbling message of apology to a Brazilian influencer with whom he was romantically linked after being caught swapping messages with another woman.
The Brazil international, who is in line to play for his country against South Korea tomorrow, had been spending time with 26-year-old mother of three Virginia Fonseca. Fonseca had even visited the Spanish capital to watch Vinicius play for the 15-time European champions with Brazilian media speculating the pair were now an item.
And while the winger denied their relationship was that advanced, he still took to social media today to apologise to Fonseca after Italy-based model Day Magalhaes revealed a series of messages she had received from Vinicius.

I have been careless, admits Real Madrid star Vinicius
The former Flamengo star wrote on his Instagram story: “We all go through moments that make us reflect and grow.
“Recently, I experienced a situation that made me reflect and recognise attitudes that did not represent who I want to be or the type of relationships I want to build.
“Virginia is an incredible woman, an admirable mother, and someone for whom I feel enormous affection and respect.
“Since we met, she has come to Madrid three times to see me, leaving behind her routine, her commitments, and her life just to be with me. I met an admirable mother and an incredible partner.
“Although we were not yet officially a couple, there was a sincere connection.
“I am not ashamed to admit that I was careless, that I did not respond in the best possible way and that I disappointed her.”
Vinicius hoping for reconciliation
Vinicius is hoping the pair can make it up and rekindle their relationship, adding: “That is why I want to apologise publicly, with an open heart, because I understood that a true relationship only exists when there is respect, trust and transparency.
“The idea now is to start all over again. No lies, no fights, no masks. With lots of love, affection and respect.”
Vinicius has had issues on the field as well in recent months with his form dipping after he was snubbed in favour of Rodri in the voting for the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
He did, however, score twice for Madrid in the weekend win over Villarreal.
