Barcelona v Osasuna: LaLiga leaders have goal disallowed in fruitless first-half at Camp Nou

Barcelona had a goal ruled out for offside as the Catalan giants endured a frustrating half against a stubborn Osasuna side at the Camp Nou.

With Real Madrid playing on Sunday, the LaLiga leaders are looking to move seven points clear at the summit of the table – for 24 hours at least – but were held to a goalless first 45 minutes by their relegation-battling opponents.

Ferran Torres thought he had given his side the lead mid-way through the half when he headed impressively into the top corner following Marcus Rashford’s chipped delivery into the box.

But the effort was chalked off due to an offside from the short corner in the build-up.

From there, Barca boss Hansi Flick cut an agitated figure on the touchline. For all their dominance with the ball, Blaugrana struggled to break down the defensively-dogged visitors.

Eric Garcia blasted off-target before Torres saw his acrobatic effort fly narrowly wide after some dazzling footwork from Lamine Yamal, with Flick’s frustration showing little sign of easing.

At the other end, Osasuna had a few chances of their own, the best coming from Ante Budimir, who shot straight at Joan Garcia at close range after swivelling in the area.

Barcelona are still without attacking midfielders Gavi and Dani Olmo through injury while defender Ronald Aruajo is unavailable for selection, too.

Flick made two changes to the team that beat Eintracht Frankfurt in midweek. Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres were brought back into the starting XI with Fermin Lopez and Robert Lewandowski dropping to the bench.

Barcelona: Joan Garcia; Kounde, Cubarsi, Martin, Balde; Eric Garcia, Pedri, Yamal, Raphinha, Rashford; Torres

OSASUNA TEAM NEWS

Osasuna are without Iker Benito with a knee injury but have no further concerns.

Osasuna: Herrera; Boyomo, Catena, Herrando, Arguibide; Moncayola, Torro, Aimar, Bretones; Victor, Budimir
