WATCH: Slavia Prague take shock lead against Barcelona in Champions League as qualification hopes hang in balance
Slavia Prague took a shock lead just 10 minutes into their home clash against Barcelona in the Champions League.
Barca went into the game knowing they realistically needed a win to stand any chance of reaching the last 16 automatically but are now facing of missing out on the knockouts altogether after going a goal down.
Slavia Prague, currently winless in the Champions League this season, could have went behind themselves when Fermin Lopez blazed over inside the box.
But moments later they were celebrating the opening goal as Vasil Kujec somehow bundled the ball in at the far post from a corner.
Michal Sadilek’s corner was glanced on across the face of the goal by Tomas Holes, before Kujec got his body down to unconventionally force the ball in amid pressure from the Barcelona defence.
If the score stays as 1-0, Barcelona face ending the evening with their top-eighth hopes all but over as they currently sit three points off those positions with one more game to play. They are also just two points inside the play-off places.
