‘I’ll see if I can help him’ – New Al-Nassr head coach Jorge Jesus makes Cristiano Ronaldo promise after joining Saudi club
Jesus thanked the football icon for helping him land the job in Saudi Arabia.
Jorge Jesus has officially been appointed as the new head coach of Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr and has already made a promise to superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 70-year-old Portuguese manager, who previously coached Al Hilal, returns to Saudi Arabia for another stint in the Saudi Pro League.
He takes over from Stefano Pioli and was given the nod of approval by the Portuguese icon before being named.
Jesus has signed a one-year contract with Al-Nassr and is set to earn a salary of approximately €12 million for the season.
Speaking to journalists at the airport shortly after his appointment was made official, Jesus acknowledged the influential role Ronaldo played in bringing him to the club.
“Without his invitation, I certainly wouldn’t be there,” Jesus admitted.
Here to start a new journey 💛

“The motivation will be great. I’m going to try to ensure that Al Nassr, which is one of the best clubs in Saudi Arabia, can win titles.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is a player who has always won everything he’s played for. He hasn’t won in Saudi Arabia yet. I’ll see if I can help him.
When asked about working alongside Ronaldo, the coach was quick to point out their compatibility and mutual understanding.
“We speak the same language, everything is easy,” he concluded.
Jesus now begins a new chapter but will be tasked with guiding Al-Nassr to domestic and continental success- something that has so far eluded Ronaldo since his high-profile move to the club.
