Al Ettifaq 2-2 Al Nassr: Report, result, goals as Ronaldo’s leaders are held

Cristiano Ronaldo saw his Al Nassr side drop points for the first in the Saudi Pro League season as two goals from Georginio Wijnaldum earned Al Ettifaq a draw.

Jorge Jesus’ side had won their opening 10 league games and looked set for another victory when Ronaldo deflected them ahead.

But former Premier League midfielder Wijnaldum had other ideas and his late leveller ensured a share of the spoils and cut Al Nassr’s lead over Al Taawoun to just three points.

Wijnalduum hit the ony goal of the first half when he cut in from the left to bend in a wonderful opener.

Ronaldo was part of a familiar star-studded forward line featuring the 40-year-old, Joao Felix and former Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.

Senegal forward Sadio Mane is at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations but it was former Chelsea man Felix who got Al Nassr on level terms.

The Portuguese forward buried a low shot from the edge of the area to equalise for the leaders before his shot went in off the back of Ronaldo for the legend’s 13th goal of the season.

That looked like being the winner until ex-Liverpool man Wijnaldum drove in a clinical low shot.
