South Sudan vs Gambia betting tips: Africa Cup of Nations qualifier preview, predictions and odds

[RECOMMENDED_BETS]

South Sudan vs The Gambia match preview

Group G is finely poised with two matches to go, meaning both nations really need a result in Ismailia.

The Gambia made their Africa Cup of Nations debut last year, upsetting the odds by reaching the quarter-finals in Cameroon.

In this qualification campaign, the Scorpions have so far won two and lost two, most-recently beating top-seeds Mali in March, with Omar Colley the match winner.

Tom Saintfiet’s side sit third in the section, below Congo on head-to-head, although those two will meet on the final matchday in September.

Thus, a victory here for Gambia would be a huge step towards AFCON qualification.

South Sudan meantime are the group’s rank-outsiders, having never qualified for a major tournament, winning only six of 32 competitive internationals since their first in 2012.

Having lost their other three outings, South Sudan do remain bottom of the group, but a win here would propel them right back into contention.

Will there be a winner at Suez Canal Stadium in Egypt?
