Rwanda vs Mozambique match preview
Second spot in Group L is very much up for grabs, so who will take a gigantic step towards next year’s AFCON with a victory in Butare?
As it stands, Mozambique occupy that all-important second place, with four points from four matches on the board.
The reverse fixture finished 1-1 last June, with Os Mambas then defeating Benin 1-0 Cotonou six days later.
Since then though, Chiquinho Conde’s side have lost home and away to run-away group leaders Senegal, although a victory here could see Mozambique qualify for their first AFCON in 14 years.
Given that Rwanda’s final game in this group is a trip to reigning African champions Senegal, they’ll feel this one is must win if they’re to have any chance of ending their 20-year major tournament exile.
The Wasps have drawn three times in Group L so far, most-recently held to a pair of 1-1 stalemates by Benin in March.
