Côte d’Ivoire vs Mali: Head to head statistics

Côte d’Ivoire vs Mali match preview

In just four months time, Côte d’Ivoire will host the Africa Cup of Nations, doing so for the first time since 1984, meaning they’re under huge pressure to pick up their third title.

On Saturday, les Éléphants beat minnows Lesotho 1-0 in San-Pédro, with Ibrahim Sangaré the match-winner.

As well as AFCON, Jean-Louis Gasset’s team have World Cup qualifying to look forward to, with that competition starting in November.

Ivory Coast featured at three successive World Cups between 2006 and 2014 but, having failed to qualify for both of the last two, are desperate to end that streak.

Their visitors for this friendly are Mali, who believe they could be making their World Cup debut come the summer of 2026.

Les Aigles hammered South Sudan 4-0 on Friday, Ibrahima Koné, Kamory Doumbia and Nene Dorgeles all scoring, as they wrapped up top spot in their AFCON qualification group.
