Bristol City vs Swansea City betting tips: FA Cup Third Round preview, predictions and odds

📰 Table Of Contents

Match preview

Swansea supporters will make the relatively short 80 mile journey across the Prince of Wales Bridge for this all-Championship tie that’ll certainly be hotly contested.

These two played out a 1-1 draw as recently as late-October, with Tommy Conway breaking the deadlock, only for Olivier Ntcham to ensure the points were shared.

Will there be a winner this time?

Neither are enjoying a season to remember, with Swansea down in 15th, six points and four places better off than their rivals from across the River Severn.

The Swans lost 2-1 to league-leaders Burnley on Monday, meaning they’ve won just one of ten matches since a South Wales derby victory on 23 October.

Also, they’ve fallen in round three in four of the last seven seasons, a fate Russell Martin’s men are desperate to avoid a repeat of.

In fact, the Robins last got beyond round five of this competition in 1973/74, falling to eventual winners Liverpool in the quarter-finals that year.

Right now, Nigel Pearson’s men are without a win in four, following a 1-1 draw in Coventry on New Year’s Day.

In short, neither of these teams are particularly good right now, making this clash at Ashton Gate tough to call.
