Neither Bologna nor Hellas Verona got their Serie A campaigns off to the desired start last time out, en route to respective defeats at the hands of Lazio and Napoli.

It was the former, though, who provided much the better account of themselves. Whilst Verona were thumped by five goals to two on home turf, Bologna were not far off emerging from the Stadio Olimpico with a share of the spoils.

In turn, though Verona are viewed as favourites with the bookmakers, based on both form, and Bologna’s win in the corresponding fixture last season, a draw at odds of 3.40 looks an enticing bet.

Tip of the game

When it comes to potential goalscorers, Marko Arnautovic is a solid candidate to be first on target in Sunday’s clash.

The Austrian opened the scoring at Lazio last time out, and, as Bologna’s penalty taker, boasts an immediate advantage over his teammates when it comes to opportunities inside the area.

You can bet on ‘Arnie’ adding his name to the scoresheet first at the Stadio Dall’Ara at odds of +600.

Match preview

As alluded to above, the two sides will head into proceedings having endured disappointing starts to their respective seasons.

As such, though both will have their sights set on all three points, avoiding a 2nd straight defeat could well prove the plan of action for Gabriele Cioffi and Sinisa Mihajlovic alike.

A hard-fought affair, as a result, looks likely to be in store at the Dall’Ara.

Turning attentions towards the personnel front, hosts Bologna remain without the services of sidelined attacker Orji Okwonkwo, but summer arrivals Andrea Cambiaso and Charalampos Lykogiannis are expected to feature from the off once more.

For Hellas Verona, meanwhile, Federico Ceccherini could be in line for a return to action on the back of a short spell on the sidelines, whilst Giovanni Simeone’s departure for Napoli means Kevin Lasagna is likely to be joined up top by recent addition Thomas Henry, fresh off a debut goal last weekend.
