Pedro stunner gives Chelsea lead

Joao Pedro marked his first Chelsea start with a thumping drive to give the Blues a 1-0 lead in their Club World Cup semi-final against Fluminense.

The striker – who started his career with the Brazilian side – only joined from Brighton last week.

And when Pedro Neto’s cross was half cleared, Joao Pedro took a touch before bending in a beauty from 22 yards.

He didn’t celebrate against his old side.

Chelsea were on top but needed a sliding Marc Cucurella to clear off the line to keep them ahead in New Jersey.

The winners will face either PSG or Real Madrid in Sunday’s final.
