Norwich City vs Millwall match preview

The final fixture of the Championship gameweek is set to play out at Carrow Road on Sunday, August 20th.

The matchup in question will see Norwich City act as hosts, in a meeting with Millwall.

Beginning with the former, Norwich, for their part, are fresh off a largely solid opening to the term in England’s 2nd tier.

Daniel Farke’s troops kicked things into gear by way of a deserved downing of Hull City, thanking a last-gasp Adam Idah effort for an eventual 2-1 win.

And this was followed last weekend by the Canaries playing their part in an early contender for game of the season.

With a full 96 minutes on the clock, Norwich looked on their way to another three-point haul, leading Southampton by four goals to three.

To their credit, Norwich did manage a swift bounce-back result, sending Queens Park Rangers packing from the EFL Cup in midweek.

But a return to winning ways in the league will too be very much on the agenda for Sunday’s Carrow Road hosts.

Turning attentions towards the day’s visitors to East Anglia, Millwall, too, enjoyed a perfect start to the term, two weeks ago.

After making the trip to the Riverside Stadium, a solitary strike by way of Romain Esse ten minutes from time proved sufficient to get the better of Middlesbrough.

Since, however, the Lions have majorly struggled.

In their own EFL Cup opener, a disastrous evening’s work saw Gary Rowett’s men ship four goals without reply at home to Reading.

Then, in their return to Championship action last weekend, Millwall were condemned to a 2nd-straight defeat.

The Lions’ struggles in front of goal laid bare once more, Bristol City’s Matty James took full advantage, notching a 94th-minute winner at The Den.

So, all of this considered, how do we at 101 envision Sunday’s action at Carrow Road unfolding?

We are backing hosts Norwich’s quality to prove too much for Millwall, en route to a comfortable three-point haul.
