Bristol City vs Middlesbrough match preview

Two sides in the midst of altogether contrasting spells of form are set to lock horns in a Championship clash at Ashton Gate this Monday, April 10th.

The matchup in question will see Bristol City act as hosts, in a meeting with Middlesbrough.

Beginning with the former, Bristol City are fresh off a timely, and altogether impressive bounce-back result last time out.

This came as the Robins made the trip to the Bet365 Stadium, for a meeting with in-form Stoke City.

And, after falling behind early on, late goals on the part of Zak Vyner and Anis Mehmeti proved enough to guide Nigel Pearson’s troops to the right side of a 2-1 scoreline.

This brought to an end a run of just one win in seven across all competitions, guiding Bristol City to within three points of the Championship’s top half.

Amid an ongoing push for an automatic promotion berth, Michael Carrick’s men saw a run of eight wins from ten ended by relegation-battling Huddersfield Town.

Then, last time out, a home meeting with now-promoted Burnley culminated in a 2nd loss on the spin.

After Chuba Akpom cancelled out Ashley Barnes’ opener, Connor Roberts’ finish midway through the 2nd-half proved decisive en route to a 2-1 result.

Boro, in turn, have tumbled to 4th in the table, with their hopes of a 2nd-placed finish all but ended.

The visitors will nevertheless head into proceedings at Ashton Gate in possession of favourite status, but we at 101 would not be all that surprised if hosts Bristol City manage to battle their way to a share of the spoils.
