WBA, WBC, WBO, and The Ring super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez is about to return to the ring for the first time in more than seven months.

Canelo will fight in Saudi Arabia for the first time when he faces Cuban William Scull, who has won all 23 of his bouts and holds the IBF title, at Riyadh’s ANB Arena.

The scrap is one of two high-profile pay-per-view events in quick succession, with former lightweight champions Ryan Garcia and Rolly Romero also meeting in New York.

Canelo vs Scull fight time

Canelo and Scull are expected to make their way to the ring at 23:00 ET or 20:00 PT on Saturday, May 3, which is 04:00 BST on Sunday in the UK.

Garcia vs Romero fight time

Garcia and Romero are expected to walk out at New York’s Times Square at around the same time 24 hours earlier, on Friday, May 2.

Canelo vs Scull US TV channel

Both cards are being shown on DAZN worldwide. DAZN viewers should tune in via the platform’s dedicated app on Smart TVs.

Canelo’s undercard includes an all-British heavyweight fight between Johnny Fisher and Dave Allen. Fisher won by split decision when the pair met in Riyadh in December 2024.

Garcia vs Romero undercard fights

Devin Haney – a bitter rival of Garcia – also fights on the card. Garcia beat Haney by mixed decision in but the fight was ruled a no contest because Garcia, who also missed weight, failed a drugs test.
