Manchester City v Everton Match Preview
Despite a stumbling start to the season, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City could go top of the Premier League with a home win against Everton on Saturday.
City are on a seven-game unbeaten run with striker Erling Haaland in peak form and Guardiola appears to be getting the best out of his team once more. Pep won his 250th Premier League game before the international break and will be confident if his much-travelled squad return home in good shape.
David Moyes’ visitors have not beaten City in the league since 2017 but have been in great form on the road of late – although they will be without a key man.
Manchester City v Everton team news
City have attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki back from a thigh injury and also hope to have Egypt forward Omar Marmoush in the squad after he recovered from a knee problem.
Defenders Rayan Ait-Nouri and Abdukodir Khuusanov are also back in contention.
Everton will not be able to call on Jack Grealish, who is on loan from City, so Moyes will have to rejig his midfield. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is back from suspension and will come in, while defenders Jarrad Branthwaite and Michael Keane are doubts with minor injuries.
