Manchester City’s Premier League title defence got off to the perfect start after they beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and things should be more straightforward when they host Ipswich this weekend.

Erling Haaland and Mateo Kovacic’s goals were the difference between the two sides and Haaland in particular will be looking to get ahead of the competition by netting against the Tractor Boys.

Ipswich gave Liverpool a good test in the first half at Portman Road but ultimately ran out of steam against Arne Slot’s team.

But things will not let up against the champions and it would be a minor miracle if they overcame Pep Guardiola’s men on their home turf.
