An update on the future of Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has come to the fore late on Sunday evening.
This, for those who may have missed it, comes on the back of a night to forget for all associated with Real.
The capital giants marked their return to action a short time ago, making the trip to the Wanda Metropolitano for the latest edition of the Madrid derby.
Ancelotti and co. headed into proceedings hopeful of reclaiming their spot atop the La Liga table, after being leapfrogged by both Barcelona and surprise package Girona on Saturday.
When all was said and done, however, instead, Real were condemned to a hugely underwhelming defeat.
Alvaro Morata proved the star of the show, notching a brace either side of half-time, with Antoine Griezmann having also been on target en route to a 3-1 result at the Metropolitano.

Taking to social media in their absolute droves, the club’s supporters have taken firm aim at boss Carlo Ancelotti, adamant that the Italian got his tactics completely wrong in the derby.
Some, in fact, have gone as far as to call for Ancelotti to be sacked.
Those hopeful of such a scenario playing out at any point in the near future, however, need not get their hopes up.
This comes amid confirmation by way of several Spanish sources post-match tonight that the powers that be at the Santiago Bernabeu maintain ‘total confidence’ in the club’s head coach.
