The transfer train continues to roll from station to station this summer after Roshn Saudi League giants Al-Ahli looks to add another top-level talent from Europe after submitting a first bid for Argentine international and World Cup-winning midfielder Rodrigo De Paul.
The 29-year-old has been a key instrument in the center of the park across the last seven years at both Udinese Calcio and Atlético Madrid while featuring prominently for Lionel Scaloni’s La Albiceleste.
Per football insider Fabrizio Romano, the Jeddah-based club has played their first hand after submitting a €32m bid, with talks reportedly moving forward between both camps as negotiations are reportedly underway.

De Paul has spent the last two seasons in the Spanish capital after rising to prominence in Serie A with Udinese, where he scored 33 Serie A goals in 177 league appearances, while twice hitting the 9-goal mark in 2018-19 and 2020-21 respectively.
Though he has been a key figure at Atléti since his arrival in 2021-22, De Paul’s attacking qualities have decreased considerably given the system run by Diego Simeone at Cívitas Metropolitano, but there is no use speculating if whether or not that is a reason he is open to departing the club before the conclusion of the transfer window.
At the time of writing, Al-Ahli has spent over €140m on moves for Riyad Mahrez, Roger Ibañez, Allan Saint-Maximin, Merih Demiral, Franck Kessié, and Edouard Mendy, while also securing Roberto Firmino on a free transfer, as well as four others in the same capacity.
