Manchester United team news vs Crystal Palace

The Red Devils are looking to bounce back from a poor start to the season

Manchester United host Crystal Palace for the second time in four days as the Red Devils look to right their stuttering Premier League campaign against Roy Hodgson’s side.

The two sides met in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, with Erik ten Hag’s side strolling to a 3-0 win courtesy of goals from Alejandro Garnacho, Anthony Martial and Casemiro.

Back to full strength and Premier League action now though, Saturday promises to be an altogether trickier encounter for the Red Devils, with Palace having begun the season strongly.

As things stand, they sit a point and a place behind Manchester United, but could overtake them with three points at Old Trafford.

Here’s how we expect the Red Devils to line up, and the latest team news from Erik ten Hag.

Predicted XI

Team News

Mason Mount made his long-awaited return in the Carabao Cup win over the Eagles in midweek, and could be in line to start again when they meet on Saturday afternoon.

The Englishman had been struggling with a hamstring injury but appears to have returned to full fitness in what will come as a boost to Erik ten Hag.

Another summer signing now ready to start is Sofyan Amrabat, with the Moroccan impressing against Crystal Palace on Tuesday, while youngster Hannibal also made a strong claim to a starting berth.

However, there are still plenty of problems in the squad. Neither Antony nor Jadon Sancho will take part as a result of external issues, while Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Tyrell Malacia and Kobbie Mainoo all remain sidelined through injury.

All of Sergio Reguilon, Christian Eriksen and Scott McTominay will be assessed ahead of the game after missing the midweek fixture through illness, while Lisandro Martinez may also miss out as he recovers from a foot injury sustained against Arsenal.
