The latest edition of French football’s most fiercely contested fixture is set to play out at the Parc des Princes this Sunday, September 24th.

The matchup in question will see Le Classique rivalries renewed, as Paris Saint-Germain play host to Olympique de Marseille.

Hosts PSG will head into proceedings as favourites, fresh off a morale-boosting Champions League downing of Borussia Dortmund in midweek.

Last weekend, though, Luis Enrique’s troops proved once more that they are there to be got at, en route to a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of OGC Nice.

Marseille, on the other hand, have stuttered to draws in each of their last three, the latest of which came by way of a six-goal Europa League thriller with Ajax on Thursday.

The matchup will be part of Gameweek 409 on Sorare Football, and 101 Great Goals has broken down the key statistical takeaways ahead of the game.

Paris Saint-Germain vs Olympique de Marseille Sorare tips

Paris Saint-Germain

Kylian Mbappe

Despite another summer packed with drama and rumours surrounding his name, Kylian Mbappe has continued to prove himself the undisputed star of the show in Paris over the early weeks of the new season. The 24-year-old, to date, has found the net in all five of his appearances, to the tune of a hefty eight goals. The most recent came in midweek, en route to PSG’s downing of Borussia Dortmund. In Ligue 1, meanwhile, Mbappe remains something of a Sorare must have, having averaged a remarkable 85 points-per-game.

Achraf Hakimi

Another to have played a starring role in midweek, Achraf Hakimi, on the back of a dismal start to the term, has since steadied the ship in impressive fashion over the last couple of weeks. The Moroccan has directly contributed to a goal in each of his last three appearances, for successive Sorare scores of 84, 85, and a perfect 100. One of the first names on the team sheet at the Parc des Princes, Hakimi’s attacking threat makes him a worthwhile addition to any side.

Randal Kolo Muani

Last up on the PSG side of things comes Randal Kolo Muani. One of a number of big-money summer additions to the ranks of the capital giants, the Frenchman, after teeing up partner-in-crime Mbappe courtesy of a gorgeous chipped assist last weekend, was handed his first start in his new club’s colours against Dortmund. Another is expected to follow in the Classique, with it only a matter of time before Kolo Muani begins banging in the goals once more.

Olympique de Marseille

Renan Lodi

Turning attentions towards Marseille, Renan Lodi has enjoyed a solid-if-unspectacular start to the season in France. Afforded starts in all five of OM’s Ligue 1 outings, the former Atletico Madrid has not missed a single minute of action to date. Particularly impressive en route to a goalless stalemate with Toulouse last weekend, Lodi is perhaps not the most glamorous Sorare pick, but a potentially impactful one on both sides of the ball.

Jonathan Clauss

Turning attentions towards the right flank, Jonathan Clauss remains perhaps one of French football’s most underrated stars. The 30-year-old has long been producing at an elite level in his home country, with his start to the new season having proven no different. Though he is yet to manage either a goal or assist in the league (he did net against Ajax in midweek), Clauss, in the space of the last three gameweeks alone, has racked up eye-catching Sorare scores of 97, and a perfect 100.

Pau Lopez

Tasked with keeping PSG’s host of standout attacking talent at bay on Sunday evening, Pau Lopez will certainly have his work cut out for him, should Marseille have any chance of emerging with something to show for their efforts in France’s capital. As is the case with OM’s form as a whole, the Spaniard’s form has been somewhat up and down across the campaign to date. When firing on all cylinders, though, Lopez remains a top-level shot-stopper, and could be in line for a major haul come the full-time whistle at the Parc des Princes.
