Thomas Tuchel drawn on Harry Kane swoop & Sadio Mane’s Bayern Munich future

Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel was today drawn on both a potential incoming and outgoing from his side’s attacking ranks.

First, unsurprisingly, came questions on the German champions’ ongoing pursuit of Harry Kane.

It has of course been common knowledge for several weeks now that the powers that be at the Allianz Arna have identified Tottenham Hotspur talisman Kane as their prime summer transfer target.

This comes as they continue in efforts to source a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, on the back of the prolific Pole’s departure for Barcelona a year ago.

Negotiations, in turn, have long been kicked into gear between the respective boards in Bavaria and north London.

Tuchel, however, was keen to keep his cards close to his chest when pressed on Kane’s potential arrival this afternoon.

The German tactician did, though, confirm that Bayern are indeed on the hunt for reinforcements up top, with the hierarchy at the Allianz ready to ‘go all in’ for any player deemed ready to fill this void.

Turning attentions towards potential departures from his frontline, Tuchel was then drawn on the speculation surrounding the name of Sadio Mane.

Fresh off a turbulent debut campaign in Munich, which saw him fail to hit the heights of his famed Liverpool fame, as well as suffer a heavy fine for punching teammate Leroy Sane, hitman Mane has been tipped to bring a swift close to the German chapter of his career.

Saudi giants Al Ahli, for one, are understood to be keeping a close eye on the situation of the Senegalese.

And though his manager was quick to assure that Mane himself is eager to stay put, he was also not shy in reiterating that ‘a lot of things can happen in football’.
