Marco Asensio is set to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.

After nine years at the Santiago Bernabéu, the midfielder will be leaving.

His contract is up and he has decided not to renew.

Aston Villa are now a very strong decision for the 27-year-old.

Unai Emery is working to convince Asensio to join him at Villa Park, according to Marca.

The Spanish coach wants to make his fellow countryman a key part of his Villa team.

Emery is in direct contact with him and a deal seems to be very close.

The midfielder is yet to make a decision and is studying all the proposals being offered to him.

PSG, Arsenal and AC Milan have all expressed an interest in signing him, but Villa are leading the race.
