Revealed: Bernardo Silva’s surprisingly low release clause included in new Man City contract

Bernardo Silva’s new Man City contract contains a release clause...

Bernardo Silva has signed a new contract with Manchester City until 2026.

The 29-year-old was being linked with a move away this summer.

Although his new deal does include a release clause, which could be tempting for some clubs.

Bernardo’s new release clause

Bernardo Silva has a release clause of £50 million in his new contract, according to Matteo Moretto.

The new deal very much clears up his immediate future with the midfielder now expected to remain at the Etihad this summer.

FC Barcelona had been working on a deal to sign him, however, this is likely to deter them from getting it done.

Silva will now look to fight for a consistent place under Pep Guardiola having played a somewhat sporadic role last season.

With Kevin De Bruyne now sidelined for 4-5 months, this could be the Portuguese’s chance to secure regular minutes.
