Manchester United join Liverpool in race for relegated star

Manchester United will rival Liverpool for a recently relegated player.

According to TeamTalk, Tyler Adams has told Leeds United he wants to play in the Premier League next season, and that a number of teams are interested in signing him.

According to the reports, both Liverpool and Newcastle are interested in landing him ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

However, Manchester United - who have been linked with Adams several times in the recent past - are keeping close tabs on the USMNT international, who they view as cover for Casemiro.

No potential transfer fee is mentioned in the report and whilst Adams remains under contract at Elland Road until 2027, any transfer fee is likely to be reduced given Leeds are once again a Championship club.

Adams made 24 Premier League appearances last season and impressed in several games despite the Whites’ poor campaign.

Should Adams sign for Manchester United, it would make sense for Manchester United to move on Scott McTominay.

The Scotsman is currently Man United’s back-up CDM behind Casemiro but he has proven on multiple occasions he is not good enough to play regularly for a side who want to be challenging for the league title.
