French international Marcus Thuram narrows down summer destination to Serie A rivals

The 25-year-old versatile forward is coming off a personal best in 2022-23 at Borussia Mönchengladbach that saw him bag 13 goals while leading the line for Die Fohlen in a manner that could net him a career move to Italy


Former Borussia Mönchengladbach star striker Marcus Thuram is one of the most sought-after free transfers in waiting this summer after winding down his deal at Borussia-Park, with multiple offers for the French international now being narrowed down to a likely move to the top flight of Italian football.

Reports from football insider Fabrizio Romano link the 25-year-old versatile forward to a likely move to Lombardy as bitter rivals Inter Milan and AC Milan look primed to go toe-to-toe for the French international forward.

Thuram is coming off a personal best in 2022-23 with Gladbach that saw him bag 13 goals in the Bundesliga while leading the line for Die Fohlen in a manner that could net him a career move to Italy, returning to the nation of his birth due to his father - legendary French defender Lillian Thuram - and his wonderful stint with Parma Calcio.

The versatile forward has already turned down advances from RB Leipzig and Paris Saint-Germain in favor of a move to Serie A, with both Italian clubs already fielding bids for his services on the back of Thuram officially becoming a free acquisition at the end of the month.

Both clubs certainly are in need of attacking reinforcements this summer as the giant pair both have recently relied on veteran forwards in the vein of Olivier Giroud, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Edin Džeko, and Romelu Lukaku.

In Thuram, either side would acquire a versatile profile capable across each of the front three positions who brings a considerable amount of pedigree at club level in what could be one of the signings of the summer.
