Eddie Howe is likely to keep things simple on the weekend against visiting Burnley after Newcastle United ousted Manchester City from the Carabao Cup yesterday evening in a 1-0 win.
The former Bournemouth boss unfortunately has added Harvey Barnes to the injury list after the winger could be out for two months after coming off against Sheffield United last weekend. He joins Emil Krafth and Joe Willock in treatment.
Expect the first-choice back four and midfield three to be deployed, while Anthony Gordon will retain his place in the XI on the back of Barnes’ injury. Callum Wilson is expected to feature ahead of Alexander Isak at center-forward.
