Manchester United man subject to interest from several Premier League clubs ahead of summer transfer window

The Red Devils will face a fight to keep him this summer

Manchester United loanee Marcel Sabitzer is hot property, with several Premier League clubs reportedly keen on taking the Austrian on a permanent deal this summer, it has been reported.

The 29-year-old arrived on loan from Bayern Munich in January following the injury to Christian Eriksen, and has impressed during his 7 Premier League outings for Erik ten Hag’s side.

However, his future in Bavaria appears to be over, with Konrad Laimer set to arrive at the Allianz Arena on a free transfer from RB Leipzig this summer, further pushing his compatriot down the pecking order.

Sabitzer himself has not ruled out staying in Manchester permanently, admitting that he is happy at Old Trafford.

“It’s a loan to Man United at the moment, that’s all I can say. I like it here”, he told the Daily Mail.

“I’m feeling very good here. I like the team, I like the club, the atmosphere in Old Trafford. We will see what happens in the summer”.

Any move would cost around £20m, it has been reported, but the club themselves have not decided on their next move and Sky Sports Germany report that ‘decisive talks will follow next weeks’.

However, they may face competition. The same report claims that ‘many clubs of the Premier League [have] inquired about him’ as they look to bolster their own midfield, while United are looking to add more youth to their own ranks with Frenkie de Jong heading up their list of transfer targets.

Sabitzer has made it clear that he would like to join the Red Devils permanently, but Ten Hag’s side will have to move fast for his signature.
