FPL 2023/24: Best captain picks gameweek 3

Gameweek 3 of the 2023/24 Premier League season is set to get underway later this week.

Premier League action, of course, also means millions of players will be setting up their Fantasy Premier League side for the forthcoming action.

One of the most important aspects of FPL is picking your captain each week. Whoever you select as your captain with earn double their standard score, or triple it if you choose to play your triple captain chip, which you can do once per season.

But deciding on your captain each week can be a very tough decision that can make or break your game week.

With this in mind, 101GreatGoals will be providing you with an insight into the best captain picks for every game week this season.

Best FPL captains gameweek 3

Bruno Fernandes vs Nottingham Forest (8.5)

Bruno Fernandes is yet to open his account for Manchester United this season.

However, the midfielder has been very unlucky in his lack of points. He has the highest xG of any player in the Premier League from the opening two game weeks and should have a great chance of bagging some points this weekend.

Marcus Rashford vs Nottingham Forest (9.0)

Like Fernandes, Marcus Rashford is unlucky to have not returned at all in the opening two gameweeks of 2023/24.

But with the Englishman still playing up top and up against much easier opposition than Tottenham in GW3, a decent return seems likely.

Rashford is predicted to get 6.7 points this week, which is the second most of any player on FPL.

Erling Haaland vs Sheffield United (14.0)

The man with the highest points prediction in FPL this week is Erling Haaland with 8.3.

The Norwegian is yet to face Nottingham Forest but he is expected to score more than one against the Blades.

A lot of Haaland’s 38 goals last season came against teams in the bottom half of the table and he has already shown vs Burnley when he bagged two that he is very capable of dominating the weaker sides.
