The England national team have, on Sunday evening, confirmed a pair of blows on the personnel front.
The Three Lions, of course, reconvened this weekend, ahead of a pair of upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers.
After rattling off back-to-back wins to open their qualification campaign, Gareth Southgate’s troops will be looking to keep their perfect record alive, when they first make the trip to Malta, before playing host to North Macedonia at Old Trafford.
A strong panel of stars, in turn, was called upon late last month, featuring the talents of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Declan Rice, Harry Kane and more.
As alluded to above, though, two such players selected for duty by Southgate, unfortunately, will play no part for England over the course of the next two weeks.
The pair in question? Lewis Dunk and Jude Bellingham.
As revealed in an official Three Lions statement on Sunday evening, Brighton star Dunk has been forced to withdraw altogether, owing to an unspecified injury.
Midfielder Bellingham, meanwhile, expected to be unveiled as a new Real Madrid player this week, will also be unavailable for selection.
The youngster will, though, link up with the rest of Southgate’s squad, ‘to continue his rehabilitation on the injury that ruled him out of Borussia Dortmund’s season finale’.
