Auxerre will be aiming to jump out of the relegation zone before 2023 with them playing hosts to Monaco this Wednesday at the Stade Abbe Deschamps with the away side coming into this game in sixth and with hopes of getting into the Champions League spots.

Monaco have greatly improved their form over the past few months after what was a tough start to the 2022/23 Ligue 1 campaign. The club come into this game now in sixth and just three points behind Marseille in fourth but with an inferior goals difference.

This comes off the back of eight wins and just four losses in 15 games, scoring 29 times and letting in just 21 - this is the second most goals in the league after Paris Saint-Germain.

Monaco were quite busy during the World Cup break as well, drawing with Sevilla and Monaco in December, but defeated Empoli 1-0 in between these games. The sixth-placed Ligue 1 side also beat Leeds United 4-2 in a game just last week.

Auxerre are heading into this game off the back of having a pretty decent time during the break for the World Cup. They beat Metz 5-1 in a friendly two weeks ago, just prior to a 2-2 draw Angers as well and a 1-0 win over Hajduk Split.
