One of the great fixtures of any La Liga season, but will Barcelona maintain their nine-point lead at the top in the Basque County?

Last weekend, Barça won 1-0 yet again, this time beat Valencia, with Raphinha the only goalscorer.

In the second half, they were very much hanging on, after Ferran Torres had seen a penalty saved, before Ronald Araújo was sent off.

Nevertheless, Xavi’s team moved nine points clear of Real Madrid, having secured their tenth 1-0 victory of the season.

Overall, the Blaugrana are on for a domestic treble, picking up the Supercopa de España in January and then defeating Real Madrid 1-0 in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi at the Bernabéu.

Back in La Liga, this is certainly one of Barcelona’s toughest remaining games, so will they avoid a Sunday night slip-up?

Athletic Club Bilbao meanwhile need points to get back into the European conversation.

Ernesto Valverde’s side lost back-to-back games in February, before holding Rayo Vallecano to a goalless draw at Vallecas, with star man Oihan Sancet controversially sent off in stoppage time.

That leaves the Lions ninth, two points below the potential European places.

This fixture could be a dress-rehearsal for the Copa final, with Athletic 1-0 down from the first leg of their semi against Osasuna.

In its own right, this clash at San Mamés is crucial for both, so can the Basque giants claim a famous victory over the run-away league-leaders?
