Just one week on from their battle at the San Siro, Inter Milan and AC Milan are back at their famous stomping ground for the second leg of their Champions League semi-finals affair with Inter the home side in this battle.

With Milan at home, it was their city rivals who stormed to a rapid lead in the first leg after a brilliant finish from Edin Dzeko before Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored two minutes later to give Inter a 2-0 lead after 11 minutes.

Since the first leg last week, things have only got worse for Milan. The club went on to lose 2-0 to Spezia in Serie A and remain in fifth with three games left to go in what has been a dismal attempt to defend their Serie A crown. Worse yet, they now sit four adrift of the Champions League spots.

Inter, however, smashed Sassuolo 4-2 thanks to a brace from Romelu Lukaku and a finish from Lautaro Martinez. They remain in third as a result.

This game is all or nothing for Milan in terms of Champions League football for next season, but with no away goals, an early goal for Stefano Pioli’s men could change the tie drastically.
