Roma are searching for their first win of the season after an underwhelming display on the opening weekend against Salernitana with Jose Mourinho’s men heading to the Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium to meet with Hellas Verona.

Verona have had an excellent start to their campaign by defeating Ascoli in the Coppa Italia first round with a goal each from Milan Duric, Pawel Dawidowicz and Jordi Mboula.

The men from Verona followed this up with an away win over Empoli, as Federoci Bonzzoli scored after 75 minutes in a narrow 1-0 victory for the side that escaped relegation on only goals difference.

Roma were not in Coppa Italia action due to their league finish last season moving them into round two, but the club were also stunned by Salernitana on the opening weekend.

Andrea Bellotti scored twice that day for Mourinho’s side, as he took the lead before equalising late on in the game.
