Iran vs Spain 101 Great Goals prediction: Spain 3-0 Iran

Spain showed exactly why they should be feared in this year’s World Cup campaign when they faced Portugal on Friday.

While Fernando Hierr’s side ended up drawing the game, Spain’s determination and brilliant attacking play impressed everyone.

Now, they take on an Iran side that will certainly be no match for their free-flowing football.

Iran vs Spain: Who will win?

As you would expect, Spain are the heavy favourites with Bet365.

They go into the game at odds of 2/11 while an Iran win is priced at a whopping 22/1.

With that in mind, Diego Costa to score first at 10/3 is not a bad price considering his brace against Portugal last week.

You can get Spain to win 3-0 priced at 11/2.

Iran vs Spain World Cup match preview

It’s safe to say that Spain will go into this game with all the confidence in the world.

It was expected by many that Spain could get turned over by European champions Portugal on Friday after their manager was sacked 48 hours before kick-off.

That looked to still be the case when Cristiano Ronaldo put Portugal ahead but Spain soon fought back.

In fact, they looked the better side in large chunks of the match, only to be denied by a brilliant effort from Cristiano Ronaldo late in the game.

Too much for Iran

David De Gea also grabbed the headlines for all the wrong reasons when he fumbled Ronaldo’s effort to hand Portugal their second.

De Gea also made an error against Switzerland in a friendly game not long before the start of the World Cup.

The Spaniard certainly needs to get his head in the game but you can’t imagine him facing too many shots in his next game.

That is because he and his side come up against an Iran side who are buoyed by their win over Morocco.

An Aziz Bouhaddouz own goal handed them their first victory in a World Cup game for 20 years but there’s not much hope for them to get their second against Spain.

Expect the floodgates to open.

Iran team news

There are no fresh injury concerns for Iran after their last game and following the win, there are likely to be no changes either.

Spain team news

Fernando Hierro could decide to change a few things in his Spain side.

Dani Carvajal could come back into the side despite Nacho’s brilliant goal against Portugal.

The Real Madrid full-back was an injury concern before the game but could now be back to match fitness.

We could also see some changes in midfield, Koke could be replaced by Thiago or Saul Niguez to give the side room to experiment.
