Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark will “start ramping back up” activity as she looks to return from a quad injury she suffered last month. Unfortunately, Clark has already been ruled out for the Fever’s Tuesday night matchup with the Atlanta Dream, Indiana head coach Stephanie White said earlier today, her fifth consecutive missed game.
“We’re ready to start ramping back up,” White said. “(Clark’s) been allowed to do some practicing, not everything. We’re gonna be smart, and we’re gonna be cautious, and we’re gonna play the long game and work her back in very intentionally.”
While speaking with reporters last week, Clark didn’t rule out the possibility of returning tomorrow, but she said that she didn’t want to rush back. Clark added that she is taking her rehab “day by day.”

“I think for us, we have to work both her and Sophie (Cunningham) back into, are they in basketball condition? What does it mean to go live? It’s one thing to do some shooting drills, it’s another thing to get out there on the floor, get back into movement patterns, rhythm, timing,” White explained. “That’s what part of picking and choosing things they can be in practice, so we can see their progression.”
Sophie Cunningham has been out since May 30th with an ankle injury.
“Both of them being out for long periods of time, you’ve got to work your way back into being game-ready,” White continued.
On May 24th, Caitlin Clark suffered a left quadriceps strain against the New York Liberty. Two days after that game, the Fever ruled that Clark would miss at least two weeks due to the injury. During that stretch, the Fever have gone 2-2 with wins over the Washington Mystics and the Chicago Sky.
