Steph Curry all but ruled himself out of the Golden State Warriors’ Game 5 clash with the Minnesota Timberwolves, insisting he is not able to play the role of Superman.
The Warriors went down 117-110 last night to slip 3-1 behind the Wolves, who will advance to the Western Conference finals with victory in Minneapolis on Wednesday.

All indications point to Curry missing that game due to the left hamstring injury sustained in Game 1 on May 6.
The 37-year-old has been the hero on many occasions for the Warriors but he told Andscape’s Marc J. Spears there would be no miracle comeback this time, stating: “Even if I wanted to be Superman, I couldn’t.”

Butler also struggling
The Wolves extended their series lead thanks to a 17-0 third-quarter run that saw them pull away and never look back against a Warriors side that only received a limited impact from Jimmy Butler due to illness.
Team-mate Draymond Green said: “We obviously need him shooting the ball.
“But their defense, they were collapsing on him today. So we tried to pick up that slack. But I know he’s not feeling well. Been pretty crappy all day. That also affects the energy as well. No excuses made here.
“I think that’s on me. I’ve got to find a way to get him into more positions to score. I think tonight I was just trying to get him the ball, and I don’t think I got him the ball in good spots, which then allowed the defense to load up on him. So I’ve got to do a better job of getting him the ball in better spots to where it’s not as easy for the defense to key on him.”
Kerr tips Butler to hit back
Warriors coach Steve Kerr admitted the absence of Curry meant more focus was on keeping Butler out, irrespective of his illness.
“He wasn’t as aggressive tonight,” Kerr said. “But I didn’t see a lot of openings either. Ideally, we could put more shooting around him to open up the floor a little bit. But with Steph out, we’re not going to be able to do as much of that.
“We’ll look at the tape and see where we can find some openings for him. And I know he’ll be aggressive for Game 5.”
Julius Randle scored 31 points for Minnesota with Anthony Edwards adding 30.
