Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback and Pro Football Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw made it clear that he is not a fan of the team going after and potentially signing former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. During an interview with Little Rock, Arkansas’ 103.7 The Buzz, Bradshaw called the possibility of Pittsburgh signing Rodgers “a joke.”
“That to me is just a joke,” Bradshaw said. “What are you gonna do? Bring him in for one year? Are you kidding me? That guy needs to stay in California. Go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the Gods out there.”
Bradshaw then recalled when he first met Aaron Rodgers many years ago.
“I had to go over and introduce myself to him,” he explained. “I had to go, ‘Hey, Aaron. I’m Terry Bradshaw.’ I know he knows me, but I just felt like, ‘I’d better tell him who I am.’ You walk in there, and you get in his presence, and you felt like it’s gonna start snowing.”
I’d rather have Mason Rudolph or Will Howard as the Steelers quarterback than Aaron Rodgers. #Steelers #NFL

Fellow Hall of Famer and former Chicago Bears defensive lineman Dan Hampton was also on the call for the interview. He discussed the rumblings going on around the NFL regarding Rodgers’ future.
“From what I understand, Aaron Rodgers’ agent is basically telling the league it’s just a matter of time,” he said. “He is going to be a part of the Steelers.”
“Yeah, I heard the same thing, Dan,” Bradshaw interrupted. “I just didn’t want to believe it.”
Shortly before the interview was conducted, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph opened up to reporters about the constant flow of rumors connecting Rodgers to the Steel City. Rudolph said that he is used to the outside noise.
“That’s nothing new to me,” Rudolph said on Tuesday after OTAs. “There’s been constant noise – that is the nature of the NFL, so I have been used to that for a long time now. I do nothing but be the best I can be and help our team get better this spring.”

Rudolph was allowed to test free agency this off-season. With that freedom, he elected to return to Pittsburgh for the second time in his career on a two-year, $8 million contract.
“I just think it’s a special place,” Rudolph said. “It’s obviously good to be wanted.”
Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth has played with Rudolph before. He had high praise for the former third-round draft pick.
“He’s always been consistent of who he is,” said Freiermuth. “Obviously he has a hell of an opportunity right now, and so we’re all excited for him. He’s going to come to work every single day and work hard, so it has been great to see him work again.”
