The 2025 NFL Draft is officially in the books. Last week, the lives of 257 athletes changed forever when they were drafted into the National Football League.
In the aftermath of almost every NFL Draft, sports analysts love to do one thing: hand out grades for every team. While this is a fun activity, it doesn’t make any sense because it is all based on speculation. Nobody in the 2025 draft class has played a snap in the NFL. Therefore, it’s impossible to actually give each team an informed grade.
What we can do, though, is go back in time three years to the 2022 NFL Draft and finally grade how well each team drafted since we actually have a sample size of play from all members of that draft class.
With that in mind, let’s go back and re-grade the 2022 NFL Draft using Chad Reuter’s original grades as a jumping-off point for each team.

Arizona Cardinals
Original Grade: A- | New Grade: C
This was not a good group for the Cardinals. Of the eight players taken by the Cards in this draft, only two are still on the team. Fortunately, one of them is Trey McBride, a Pro Bowler who just signed a massive contract extension with Arizona. The fact that the Cardinals landed a future Pro Bowler without a first-round pick saved them from a D or F.
Atlanta Falcons
Original Grade: B+ | New Grade: B-
Their first-round pick, Drake London, is the current number-one wide receiver in Atlanta. They also managed to snag a reliable backup running back in the fifth round when they picked Tyler Allgeier. On top of that, they found a pair of defensive contributors in the second round (Arnold Ebiketie and Troy Anderson), but it would be nice if they took a bigger step this season.
Baltimore Ravens
Original Grade: A | New Grade: A+
Their first-round pick ended up being Kyle Hamilton, who is already a two-time Pro Bowler and could be a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate. They drafted another two-time Pro Bowler in the second round by taking Tyler Linderbaum. Their starting punter was drafted in the fourth round, as well as a solid offensive contributor in Isaiah Likely. Third-rounder Travis Jones has also gotten better each year he has been in the league. This was a great draft class for Baltimore.
Buffalo Bills
Original Grade: A | New Grade: A+
Even though he was just traded away, first-round pick Kaiir Elam played a big role on the defense last year. They found their true number-one cornerback (Christian Benford) in the sixth round. Second-rounder James Cook has been Buffalo’s best player not named Josh Allen. The Bills also re-signed third-round selection Terrel Bernard to a contract extension this off-season. Lastly, fifth-rounder Khalil Shakir has been a reliable weapon for the Bills. Buffalo found four future starters in this draft, which explains why they’ve had so much success over the last few years.
Carolina Panthers
Original Grade: A- | New Grade: C-
Their first-round pick was pretty good because they found their franchise left tackle by selecting Ickey Ekwonu. They also found another rotational offensive lineman in the sixth round in Cade Mays. Everything else, though, was pretty underwhelming. I think there was some original hope that Matt Corral could be a serviceable quarterback, but he’s not even in the NFL anymore.
Chicago Bears
Original Grade: A- | New Grade: B
Despite having 11 draft picks in 2022, five of the players the Bears selected are either no longer in the league or are playing for different teams. Thankfully for Chicago, they got three starters out of this class (Braxton Jones, Jaquan Brisker, and Kyler Gordon). However, the Bears did just draft an offensive tackle, so maybe Braxton Jones’ days as a starter are numbered. If that’s not the case, though, then Chicago still managed to get good value out of those three picks.
Cincinnati Bengals
Original Grade: A- | New Grade: B
Finding three starters during a draft where you only have six picks is incredibly impressive. That’s a 50% success rate, which almost any general manager in the league would take. Cam Taylor-Britt, Dax Hill, and Cordell Volson are not perfect, but they’re all starters and have made meaningful contributions to the Bengals organization. If Cincy’s pass protection and defense were better last season, its grade would be higher.
Cleveland Browns
Original Grade: B | New Grade: C-
Nine draft picks, and the best player they selected was a kicker in the fourth round who’s not even on the team anymore. Jerome Ford, who they took in the fifth round, has been solid, but he has been forced to play more after Nick Chubb suffered season-ending injuries in 2023 and 2024. Defensive back Martin Emerson has also been a decent pickup. There were a lot of misses in this draft class, though, for Cleveland.
Dallas Cowboys
Original Grade: B | New Grade: A
Dallas’ first-round pick was Tyler Smith, who has reached the Pro Bowl twice before turning 25. They also landed two solid pass catchers in back-to-back rounds with wide receiver Jalen Tolbert and tight end Jake Ferguson. One of their best picks came on the last day when they snagged former All-Pro DaRon Bland in the fifth round.
Denver Broncos
Original Grade: A | New Grade: C+
They nailed their first-round pick in this draft. Nik Bonnito just concluded his third season in the league, where he was named a Second-Team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler. After that, it was just okay for the Broncos. Greg Dulcich was a decent tight end, but there’s a reason they brought in Evan Engram. They also added a starting center by drafting Luke Wattenberg in the fifth round.
Detroit Lions
Original Grade: B+ | New Grade: A+
The Lions were able to add Aidan Hutchinson, Jameson Williams, and Kerby Joseph through this draft. Hutchinson is one of the five best defensive linemen in the NFL, while Joseph is a top-ten defensive back. Meanwhile, Jameson Williams’ deep-play abilities make him an integral part of Detroit’s offense. Also, drafting a starting outside linebacker like Malcolm Rodriguez makes this an A+ draft class for the Lions.
Green Bay Packers
Original Grade: A | New Grade: A
Almost every player that the Packers drafted in 2022 has played meaningful snaps for this team. Quay Walker and Devonte Wyatt both play a huge part on the defensive side, while Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs make significant contributions offensively. To top it all off, the three linemen they drafted (Zach Tom, Rasheed Walker, and Sean Rhyan) have all started in important games.
Houston Texans
Original Grade: B | New Grade: A-
Houston’s first and third picks were Derek Stingley Jr. and Jalen Pitre, which basically solidified their secondary for years to come. Their second-round pick (Kenyon Green) was used in a trade to acquire C. J. Gardner-Johnson and a 2026 sixth-round draft pick this off-season. They also added a good linebacker in Christian Harris and a useful backup running back in Dameon Pierce.
Indianapolis Colts
Original Grade: C | New Grade: B+
It’s not easy finding three starters without a first-round pick, but the 2022 Colts managed to pull it off. Alec Pierce averages 644 receiving yards a season, which is really good for a team with a bad passing attack. Bernhard Raimann has taken over as the franchise’s starting left tackle ever since he was selected in the third round. It took him some time, but Nick Cross has emerged as a valuable member of the defense. Hitting on three of your first four picks sounds like a win to me.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Original Grade: B+ | New Grade: B-
This was a weird draft for the Jaguars because they had the number-one overall pick but used it on a guy who hasn’t quite lived up to expectations in Travon Walker. If he weren’t drafted one spot before a Pro Bowler like Aidan Hutchinson, this pick wouldn’t seem as bad. Devin Lloyd has been a reliable 100+ tackle-a-year starter, but his future is in question after the Jags declined his fifth-year option, meaning he could be a free agent after this season. After being a starter for two seasons, Luke Fortner was demoted to a backup role. Montaric Brown has also shown improvement, but that’s not saying much considering Jacksonville had the 32nd-ranked pass defense.
Kansas City Chiefs
Original Grade: A | New Grade: A+
There aren’t any sexy picks in this draft class, but almost every player they added was important to the Chiefs’ recent Super Bowl runs. A seventh-round pick became starting running back Isiah Pacheco. KC also added several impactful defenders, including Trent McDuffie (21 overall), George Karlaftis III (30 overall), Leo Chenal (103 overall), and Bryan Cook (62 overall). Every one of those guys started at least 11 games last season for the Chiefs.
Las Vegas Raiders
Original Grade: A- | New Grade: C+
The Raiders actually drafted pretty well, considering they didn’t make their first pick until the third round. Dylan Parham has been an incredibly reliable starter along the offensive line, while seventh-rounder Thayer Munford Jr. has also accumulated 18 starts in his career. Though he had a poor 2024-25 campaign, Zamir White is good for over 275 rushing yards per season, which isn’t bad for a projected fourth-string running back.
Los Angeles Chargers
Original Grade: A | New Grade: C-
After making their first-round pick, which they nailed by finding a starting center in Zion Johnson, there wasn’t a lot to feel good about in LA. Their third-rounder (JT Woods) is no longer on the team, while their fourth-rounder (Isaiah Spiller) is out of the league entirely. Otito Ogbonnia may be a starter, but he has never recorded a sack in his NFL career.
Los Angeles Rams
Original Grade: A | New Grade: B+
The Rams didn’t have a first-round pick, but they still managed to shore up their secondary in the later part of the draft. Derion Kendrick, Quentin Lake, and Cobie Durant each started at least 12 games last season. Their best pick came in the fifth round when they selected Kyren Williams, who has emerged as one of the most prolific running backs in the NFL over the last few seasons.
Miami Dolphins
Original Grade: B | New Grade: F
Yikes! This was the worst class of the 2022 NFL Draft. Miami only had four picks, and all of them stunk. Third-rounder Channing Tindell is a linebacker who has only 16 total tackles in his career. Erik Ezukanma is a wideout with one career reception. Cameron Goode is another failed linebacker with only seven career tackles. Skylar Thompson, their seventh-round pick, started a playoff game only because Tua Tagovailoa was injured.
Minnesota Vikings
Original Grade: A- | New Grade: D-
Their first two draft picks were defensive backs who have combined for zero career interceptions. Third-rounder Ed Ingram was basically cast away for peanuts after being a two-year starter. Maybe the best player they drafted was wide receiver Jalen Nailor, who was a decent third wideout last season. Unfortunately, failing to find any long-term starters with ten draft picks warrants a poor grade.
New England Patriots
Original Grade: C+ | New Grade: D
This was a really bad draft class. Cole Strange was always solid, but he has started fewer and fewer games each year he has been in the league. Tyquan Thornton is decent, but he only has 400 career receiving yards, which is terrible for a second-round pick. Their best selection was third-rounder Marcus Jones, who became more valuable as an All-Pro punt returner than a cornerback.
New Orleans Saints
Original Grade: C+ | New Grade: B
The Saints only had five picks in 2022, but three of those guys turned out to be full-time starters. When healthy, Chris Olave is an incredibly talented wide receiver. Though fellow first-rounder Trevor Penning is still on the team, his days may be numbered after New Orleans just drafted another offensive tackle. Also, cornerback Alontae Taylor was tied for fifth in passes defended last season (16).
New York Giants
Original Grade: A- | New Grade: C+
I think Kayvon Thibodeaux can still become an elite pass rusher, but I was hoping to see more from him, considering he was taken with the fifth-overall pick. Evan Neal has been a flat-out disappointment after going two picks later. Wideout Wan’Dale Robinson has carved out a niche role for himself on this team. I also like fifth-rounder Micah McFadden, who recorded back-to-back 100+ tackle seasons.
New York Jets
Original Grade: A | New Grade: A+
This was a home run draft class for the Jets. Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner have been offensive and defensive cornerstones for the Jets since they arrived on the scene. They also landed a budding young edge rusher with Jermaine Johnson II, as well as their starting running back in Breece Hall. Though he hasn’t been a world-beater, a third-round pick being used on Jeremy Ruckert was wise. Most importantly, every player from this draft class is still on the team.
Philadelphia Eagles
Original Grade: A | New Grade: A+
Philly only had five picks in this draft, but three of them were crucial to the Eagles winning the Super Bowl. First-round pick Jordan Davis is a superstar who could be a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate. Second-rounder Cam Jurgens is a 25-year-old Pro Bowler who just signed a four-year extension. Lastly, third-rounder Nakobe Dean was having the best season of his career last year before suffering a knee injury. Davis and Jurgens alone make this an A+ group.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Original Grade: A- | New Grade: C
They made a mistake picking Kenny Pickett in the first round, but he did manage to keep alive the streak of winning seasons. They also got a beast starting wide receiver by drafting George Pickens in the second round. Plus, Calvin Austin III emerged last year as a decent target. The rest of the picks Pittsburgh made were forgettable.
San Francisco 49ers
Original Grade: B- | New Grade: C-
The only saving grace for this draft class was the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Brock Purdy, who looks poised to be the Niners’ quarterback for years to come. They also managed to add some rotational offensive linemen like Spencer Burford and Nick Zakelj. Unfortunately, those three picks only make up slightly for the six misses San Fran had during the 2022 Draft. At least they found a quarterback, which stops this from dropping to a D or F.
Seattle Seahawks
Original Grade: C+ | New Grade: A
Seattle added starting left tackle Charles Cross, starting running back Kenneth Walker III, and starting cornerback Riq Woolen with three of their first six picks in this draft. Second-rounder Boye Mafe has a respectable 18 sacks in 48 career games. Third-round pick Abraham Lucas is slated to once again be the team’s starting right tackle. There’s also Coby Bryant, who made 11 starts last year.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Original Grade: A | New Grade: A-
Six of Tampa’s eight picks from this draft are still on the team. The only players who aren’t still in Tampa are punter Jake Camarda and seventh-round pick Andre Anthony. Logan Hall, Rachaad White, Cade Otton, and Zyon McCollum have all carved out roles on this team. Even second-round pick Luke Goedeke emerged as the squad’s starting right tackle.
Tennessee Titans
Original Grade: A | New Grade: D+
There is nothing exceptional or even all that good about this draft class. The Titans’ best player was tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo, who has actually become a somewhat reliable target despite having no good quarterbacks to play with. Cornerback Roger McCreary and wideout Treylon Burks have also been serviceable, but that’s not good enough considering they were both top-40 picks.
Washington Commanders
Original Grade: B | New Grade: C-
This was not a good draft class for the Commanders, but the silver lining is that they were able to acquire their starting running back by using a third-round pick on Brian Robinson Jr. Fifth-rounder Sam Howell was also fun for a little bit and even garnered a fourth-round pick through a trade. Outside of those two guys and a rotational offensive lineman like Chris Paul, this was not a strong showing for Washington.
