Despite trading up into the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft to select Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart, former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson took “most” of the first-team reps at Organized Team Activities (OTAs), according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan. Both Dart and Jameis Winston received “a few” first-team snaps as well.
“They’ll all get reps,” Giants head coach Brian Daboll told reporters. “They’ll all get reps at various spots. We’ve got a plan for that.”
Jaxson Dart ended up working mostly with the third team. However, Tommy DeVito did manage to get four reps with that unit.

“I’ve got a lot of appreciation for how he’s (Jaxson Dart) gone about – [in] a short amount of time – his business. And that’s what’s most important,” Daboll said a few weeks ago after the first day of rookie minicamp. “I think he’s got some natural leadership qualities… He’s got the right traits for it.”
Despite the positive impression Dart made in his first minicamp session, Russell Wilson appears to be the Giants’ starter for the time being.
“Russ. He’s been there, done that. He’s been in the league a long time,” said offensive lineman Greg Van Roten after the end of the second day of OTAs. “Competed at a high level — ten Pro Bowls, a Super Bowl, been to two. Lot of experience. He’s just been a really good voice to have in the offensive room as far as the little things… No stone goes unturned with him.”
Unfortunately for Big Blue, they’re already dealing with a hurt star player. Second-year wide receiver and Pro Bowler Malik Nabers was unable to practice today due to a nagging toe injury.
“Malik will be out here today, but he won’t be participating,” Daboll said. “We’re just being mindful of his toe that he’s had. [It’s] nothing serious, but we’re being smart with him in terms of the rehab part of it.”

Daboll revealed that Nabers did not have any type of procedure done on his foot. Rather, the injury was caused “by stress,” as one reporter put it.
“They have a plan,” he said. “Our doctors – our trainers, if you will – have a plan to kind of move him along. He’s been doing a good job with that.”
Daboll clarified that Nabers has had this injury “for a while,” even going so far as to say that it was something he dealt with in college, which would explain why they’re “just trying to be smart” with it.
