Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was detained by the police following an incident on his way to this afternoon’s Week 1 clash against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
ESPN reported Hill was pulled over for speeding and then got into a verbal altercation with the traffic officer. He was ordered out of the car and handcuffed before being released.

A Dolphins statement on X read: “This morning, WR Tyreek Hill was pulled over for a traffic incident about one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police. He has since been released.
“Several team-mates saw the incident and stopped to offer support. Tyreek and all other players involved have safely arrived to the stadium and will be available for today’s game.”
Hill’s availability to play is a huge boost for Miami with the 30-year-old the star of the franchise’s offense. He led the league in receiving last season with a career high 1,799 yards.
