Aaron Rodgers says he has been married for “a couple of months” and his understanding with Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin helped him deal with “a lot of things in my personal life” before joining the NFL team.
Speaking at a minicamp with his new squad, four-time NFL Most Valuable Player Rodgers was asked whether a band on his finger was a fitness tracker.
“It’s a wedding ring,” Rodgers replied, thanking the reporter for their congratulations less than a week after signing for the Steelers.

In separate comments, Rodgers suggested he had been dealing with personal turmoil and elaborated on his reasons for joining Pittsburgh.
“I was dealing with a lot of things in my personal life,” he explained. “Some things improved, where I felt like I could be all in here with the guys.
“It starts with Mike T – I’ve been a fan of his for a long time. The rapport that fell in between me and Mike made it as I was going through my personal stuff.”
Aaron Rodgers: Steelers move ‘best for soul’
The veteran has signed a one-year deal with the Steelers, with ESPN reporting his contract is worth $13.65 million.
“This was a decision that was best for my soul,” said Rodgers, calling the Steelers an “iconic” franchise. “There wasn’t any other option for me – it was here or not play.”
Pittsburgh have not had a losing season in 21 years, 18 of which have come under Tomlin. They are regulars in the playoffs but have a habit of choking early and have not reached the Super Bowl since 2010, a year before Rodgers trumphed.
