Where was Anthony Martial?

Anthony Martial was again missing for the Bayern Munich game.

That triggered a fresh set of rumours that Martial will be leave Old Trafford before the Thursday 5pm cut-off point.

On Monday, ESPN have reported on Martial’s whereabouts on Sunday:

Sources have told ESPN FC that instead of facing Bayern he was asked to undertake a double training session at Carrington.

Sources have told ESPN FC that Mourinho will allow Martial to leave but Woodward is more reluctant to part company with a player who is only 22 and still has two years left on his contract.

Martial’s possible exit routes from Man United are unclear.

Even if rumours of interest from Chelsea and Tottenham stands up, Man United are unlikely to sell Martial to a rival.

Links to Bayern and PSG also seem remote right now.

Jerome Boateng & Man United

Another rumour capturing attention since Sunday is the story that Jerome Boateng could leave Bayern for Man United.

Boateng has suffered from injury problems in recent times. While his reputation will forever be attached to the time Leo Messi left him on his backside.

ESPN also offer the following updates on Man United’s Boateng chase:

Sources have told ESPN FC that Boateng, who played 45 minutes against United on Sunday, wants to leave Bayern this summer after seven years at the Allianz Arena.

The German champions are open to offers but want a fee in the region of £50 million. Sources have told ESPN FC United are hopeful of negotiating that down.

If Boateng does arrive in Manchester, Marcos Rojo could leave the club. Everton are reportedly interested.
