Traveling fans mar late-winner

Liverpool secured a last-gasp three-point haul on their travels to Molineux after they waited until the 93rd-minute to secure a 1-0 road win which secured them temporary passage to the summit of the Premier League.

Second-half substitute Divock Origi bagged another influential goal in red, after he smashed his effort through the legs of center-back Conor Coady and past keeper José Sá, sending the traveling support into rapture.

But the end result of the key win for Jürgen Klopp’s troops was an unfortunate display perpetrated by Liverpool traveling supporters after they were caught on video ripping up and taking seats away from the Molineux stands during their full-time celebrations.

The actions were immediately condemned by Wolves fans on social media, with a usual small handful of supporters causing many to paint an entire fanbase with a wide brushstroke of assumptive behavior. Nevertheless, the scenes remain frustrating, to say the least, if you are a Wolves supporter, with the home ground having been unnecessarily scarred all in the name of a late win.

Liverpool climb to second; still chasing Manchester City

Liverpool could not claim top spot in the Premier League for long after their 1-0 win capitalized on Chelsea stumbling at the London Stadium in a 3-2 loss against West Ham, as Manchester City put in another dominant performance and ran out 3-1 winners against Watford, leaving the Hornets to face the prospect of dropping into the bottom three.

Despite the Reds going into free-scoring mode in recent fixtures, that saw them bag 12-goals in their last three Premier League outings, their incredible goal return is still not enough to get one over on Pep Guardiola’s City outfit for the time being.

Bernardo Silva’s brace was another reminder that City does not miss Kevin De Bruyne from the starting XI at the moment, and the Citizens now sit one point ahead of Liverpool ahead of tricky ties next weekend against Wolves and Aston Villa respectively.
