Tottenham Hotspur news- Latest on Harry Kane, Houssem Aouar, Lorenzo Pellegrini and more

Lorenzo Pellegrini

In this article, we will cover all of today’s Tottenham Hotspur news.

Manchester City want Kane

Spurs fans will no doubt be sick of hearing about Manchester City’s interest in their star man, who picked up the most goals and the most assists in the Premier League last campaign.

However, what may come as a shock to the Lilywhite fanbase is the fact that City are going after both Kane and Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, suggesting that money is largely no object.

Kane, of course, reiterated his desire to leave the north London club this summer, but Daniel Levy is not thought to want to let him go in a hurry, and Manchester City may have to play the long game with this deal.

Will that prove to be to the detriment of Spurs if they ultimately lose their frontman?

Tomiyasu deal advanced

Onto some good news for Spurs fans, and it seems as though their first signing of the summer is imminent. This will come in the form of Japanese defender Takehiro Tomiyasu, who is thought to be ready to join the club from Serie A outfit Bologna.

According to The Athletica deal will be struck at around 15 million pounds, providing Spurs with some much-needed reinforcement in their creaky back line.

Another defender targetted

Daniel Levy and co. are also thought to be targetting another defender this window, with Toby Alderweireld expected to leave having handed in a transfer request. Jules Kounde has already rejected the club on the basis of them having no Champions League football, whilst The Athletic report that Milan Skriniar, currently of Inter Milan, is a possibility.

Perhaps the most likely, however, is Southampton’s Jannik Vestergaard, who only has one year left on his current deal at St Mary’s. Although he may not be the big name Tottenham fans crave, he would represent a solid option to plug the leaky defence that new boss Nuno Espirito Santo currently possesses.

Houssem Aouar or Lorenzo Pellegrini?

One area that Spurs fans may have some joy is in central midfield. The club have been linked with a pair of household names, perhaps even more appealing to the fanbase given their previous links to north London rivals Arsenal.

Houssem Aouar is thought to be available for around 25 million pounds, and Julien Laurens has credited Spurs with a real interest in the Lyon midfielder.

Meanwhile, The Athletic report that Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini is another on Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici’s radar, with a buyout clause of 27 million pounds expiring this summer.

Would either player help get the best out of Tottenham’s current crop?
